The Little Black Dress

This is my very first outfit post on my blog! I originally tried to get some photos of this dress in a very beautiful arcade, but the lighting just made it impossible to get decent shots. So, please enjoy my fancy garage door instead.

I was sent this beauuutiful dress from Eshakti to review. I was very surprised and flattered to receive an e-mail from them requesting that I choose a dress to be sent to me. I honestly had never heard of this company until this e-mail, but I am so happy to have learned of them! They have affordable vintage style clothing for sizes ranging from 0-36W… and you get to customize your choices so you know your purchase will fit perfectly. Amazing.

This dress has a princess seamed bodice, inner pockets (I love a good dress with pockets!), lace sleeves (you can even customize sleeve length!), and I chose the below-the-knee length. I think this length makes the dress look so classy and elegant. I did have to get this dress steamed, but it still wrinkled easily, and the only thing I didn’t care for about this dress was how easily lint collects on it. I wore a coat over this dress for a few minutes, and you can see in some of the photos the leftover lint (and yes, I used a lint roller!). Other than that- this is a beautiful piece.

I live in a small town and I don’t have anywhere special to wear this dress, but one of these days an event will happen in which this dress shall be worn, and I will feel like a modern day Audrey Hepburn.

I decided against wearing jewelry and hose with this dress. I’m very simple when it comes to jewelry- as in I don’t wear it often. And I loathe hosiery… so I wanted to just be me here. I’m a simple Kentucky gal, but I think the red lipstick bumped it up a notch, eh?

You can shop at Eshakti now through February 2nd, use the code “mishmoshmakeup” and receive an extra 10% off your purchase! They have some gorgeous dresses up for Spring! I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can break out my sundresses again. =]
